Cain was born in England in 1917. At the end of WWII Cain returned to England, longing for the comforts of home, but found his mother was different; she had been changed by a vampire who had preyed on women.
There came a point where his mother felt there was no choice…Cain had to be turned as well.
After watching his mother die he changed his way of thinking, his way of feeding. He tried to reclaim some of his humanity but it was not easy as he was fueled by rage against the one that had changed her. He wanted his revenge and nothing would stop him.
After he was attacked he came across a young girl, nine year old Mia, whose innocence was slowly being taken away from her. They needed each other, and both their lives depended on it.
The world was a very bad place for Mia. She was about to find out just how much worse it could get.
Thank you for being in the Spotlight! Let's get to it! How did you come up with the title for Behind Blue Eyes?
I loved Limp Bizkit’s version of the Who’s song, Behind Blue Eyes. I gave my main character blue eyes, and you have look beyond them to see the pain he goes through.
Who is your favorite character and why?
My favorite character is Vasile. I didn’t want to make him a sympathetic character with some sob story explaining why he turned out the way he did. He is just pure, unadulterated evil.
Tell us a little bit about your cover art. Who designed it? What made you fall in love with this particular design?
John Amy, The Ebook Designer did my cover for me. He asked me for the title, brief synopsis of story, genre, any ideas you may have, distinctive items in the story which might be significant. After that he gave me five options. We dabbled with a couple of my favorites and came up with the finished result. I think it looks amazing, and when you read the story you will see why it fits so perfect.
Who is your intended audience?
My audience is adults and older teenagers as there is violence and profanities in some of the scenes, and people who like horror combined with a bit of romance. I also hope to appeal to people who want a new kind of vampire.
What can we expect from you in the future?
I don’t have another book on the cards at the moment as I am working on turning the book into a screenplay. I also have ideas for two other screenplays. When I’m finished the screenplays I may look at turning them into books.
What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?
Hopefully if they enjoy it enough they will leave a review, and tell their friends about it.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
Firstly I would like to thank you for this opportunity. I would also like to thank my friends, family and especially my beta readers; without all of you I would not have had the courage to finish and publish my novel.
And now, before you go, can we get an excerpt from Behind Blue Eyes?
“Salmia, you had better get out here now, you’re in big trouble you little bitch. I know you are in these woods somewhere.”
Cain stalked Phil for a few minutes, watching his every move, all the time wondering if he should kill him quickly or take his time, make it a little painful…well, very painful. He could have some fun. After all, he was a monster and this was his time to play. He would make him as petrified as the child was. He would enjoy watching him beg for mercy. Yes, slowly!
Without making a sound Cain approached his prey, and then spoke in a low menacing voice: “The little bitch is not here.”
Phil jumped at the sound of a man’s voice. “Who the hell are you?” He shouted. As he turned around to face the voice, he froze at the sight of a man with jet-black eyes, a look of pure evil emanated from them, like they were boring into the depths of his soul.
Woo! And there it is! Sounds like a story after my own heart! Want more? No problemo! You can find DM Wolfenden on:
